This year we were honoured by the presence of W.Bro. Kelvin Johnson PAGDC and his accompanying officer Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies W.Bro. Robert B Wood.
The lodge was opened by our Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Richard Barnett who carried out his duties as always in a professional manner, which included thanking his officers for all their support over the past year.
The installation ceremony was then commenced by W.Bro. Richard who very kindly handed over the chair to W.Bro. Tom Steele PPAGDC who was given the honour of installing our Master Elect, his son Bro. Andrew Steele in a manner that was a privilege to witness, both W.Bro's Richard and Tom doing their respective parts with much sincerity.
After our new Master was installed into the chair of our great lodge, W.Bro. Andrew carried out his duties very efficiently. This included the installation of his new team of officers and the closing of the lodge assisted by his new team which went very smoothly.
Afterwards we retired downstairs to the festive board which was a very enjoyable occasion, that was complimented by a fine meal.
Bro. Roy Evans gave an extremely comprehensive toast to the Province which W.Bro Kelvin thanked and complimented him on. W.Bro. Ian Phillips sang the Masters song accompanied by W.Bro. Don Salt, who'd very kindly taken over the organist's duties. The toasts to the absent brethren and our visitors were delivered by W.Bro's Stuart Larkins and Martin Stevenson respectively.
At the end of the evening we met up with our ladies at The Grand Hotel, who'd dined at Marco Pierre White's establishment. This year the evening was organised by W.Bro. Andrew's wife Jennifer, and everyone there also had an enjoyable time.
There can be no doubt that both Jennifer and our new Worshipful Master had a memorable night and will hopefully have a very successful year.
