We were honoured by the presence of the Provincial Junior Grand Warden, W.Bro Andrew Green along with his accompanying officer Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies W.Bro Steven Skidmore.
This year our outgoing Worshipful Master, W.Bro Scott Arnold along with his team of officers, installed our Master Elect, Bro. Richard Barnett into the chair of King Solomon with a ceremony that he and his team could all be very proud of.
After his installation W.Bro Richard carried out his first duty as Master by installing his officers with much aplomb, which was nothing less than we’ve come to expect from him.
The closing was carried out by our Worshipful Master and his team with much skill and confidence by everyone involved and can only bode well for our upcoming season which begins in October.
Once our ceremony had ended we retired to the festive board, where the members of Granite Lodge were privileged to be honoured with the presence of over fifty guests, at least one of whom had travelled from the USA to join us.
The Absent Brethren and Visitors toasts were delivered by W.Bro’s Neil Scotchbrook & Martin Stevenson respectively, which W.Bro Martin Dodgson, from the Province of Yorkshire & West Riding responded to on behalf of the visitors, with both humour, charm and sincerity.
After our festive board had ended and we’d said goodbye to all our visitors, we met up with our ladies who’d enjoyed a meal at the Grand Hotel in Leicester. This year it was organised by our Worshipful Master's wife Abbie, which all those who attended said they enjoyed.
I’m sure it’s safe to say W.Bro Richard and his wife Abbie had a great night, as did we all and are very much looking forward to the coming year.
The Leicestershire & Rutland Masonic Cycling Association has been formed as part of the Tercentenary Celebrations taking place in 2017.
