The start to Christmas in Granite Lodge No.2028 is typically the traditional Sunday Lunch held this year on 22nd November 2015 at the Lyric Rooms in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire situated next to the Masonic Hall. This year they raised £260 which will go towards the Master’s chosen charity, the Bone Marrow transplant unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary. With nearly 60 people dining, consisting of members of the Lodge, their family and friends it really was the start of the festive season. The money was raised by a raffle, organised by the Charity Steward, W.Bro. David Tarry and was keenly assisted by the children of the Brethren.
As a nice surprise, W.Bro. Ian Phillips led a rendition of “My Grandfather's Clock”, a song traditionally sung at this time of year in the Lodge, rounding off a fantastic day for all.
